Figure Skating Legends

History
In 1976, President Dr. Hugh C. Graham founded the US Figure Skating Hall of Fame (USHOF), which has undergone notable transformations over the years. In 2025, Chair Richard Dalley launched this website to address the need for an accessible catalog of our most historically significant figures.
The Hall of Fame election process involves nominations from both the skating community and the public. The Hall of Fame Committee organizes these nominations into four categories: Athletes, Professionals, Contributors, and Trailblazers. Induction is based on the primary contributions of each nominee, though many inductees merit recognition in multiple categories. After thorough discussions, the committee presents a ballot to the electors, who are primarily Hall of Fame members and a few knowledgeable members of the media. Induction ceremonies occur annually during the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
We encourage you to support the USHOF by contributing to the Hall of Fame Fund through the US Figure Skating Foundation. The financial future of the Hall of Fame is regularly assessed, and your support is vital for its continued existence.
